Leipzig, 6. September 2022 – As one of the leading providers of innovative energy and storage solutions, SENEC, together with external experts, has developed a new monitoring standard for home storage systems: SENEC.SmartGuard. The innovative software continuously checks the home storage systems’ operating data, detecting even the smallest deviations at cell level. All existing and new customers receive SENEC.SmartGuard automatically as a free software update for their storage systems.
If the software detects deviations, other anomalies or irregularities, it reacts immediately, by putting the home storage system into standby mode as a precautionary measure before subjecting it to detailed checks. Thus, in addition to the constantly optimised, local monitoring of the storage units by the battery management system, SENEC.SmartGuard offers additional security by comparing the behaviour of individual devices with all other SENEC storage systems.
This continuous control, which is facilitated by the use of artificial intelligence, also includes historical measurement data from the Cloud (big data). The protection concept’s innovative monitoring function runs entirely in the background. As a result, storage system operations are not affected. All existing and new customers receive the update free of charge.
SENEC.SmartGuard thus stands for uncompromising safety in a market that is currently experiencing even faster growth than previously forecast, this due to numerous external factors such as the accelerated expansion of renewable energies and the drive towards greater energy independence. With the new protection concept, SENEC improves not only safety, but also the longevity of the battery cells and battery management.
